Recycled Cell Phone Sales Expected to Increase 10 Fold in The Next 5 Years
ABI Research of the US said shipments and sales of recycled mobile phones are expected to exceed 100 million units and US$3 billion, respectively, in 2012. Many current estimates regarding the number of recycled phones being resold place today’s number somewhere between 5 and 10 million. However, with more than 250 million cell phone users currently in the U.S. and an increased focus on resource conservation, 100 million recycled phones being resold in 2012 may be a realistic expectation.
