In preparation for the 700 MHz auction to begin on January 24th, the FCC released the names of the applicants. It was interesting to see that the list, 266 in total, was split between companies whose applications were accepted (96) and those whose applications were deemed as incomplete (170).
According to a recent Continental Airlines news release, a new paperless boarding pass pilot program has been announced by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Continental Airlines. At the boarding gates, TSA security officers will scan passenger cell phones and PDAs for boarding passes they have received electronically. Continental developed the implementation plan and the authenticity encryption for the scanning concept created by TSA.
